Open Source Software - The Wave of the Future?
In 2009 we began to use Open Source Software as much as possible in our design process. We love the results, and our bank account loves the fact that we aren't constantly spending money to upgrade programs. To start this year, we have decided it is now time to take our own site Open Source. We will be using ourselves as an example of how powerful a Content Management System can be for your company.
So take a look at the site and watch as the modules and content grow. A partial list of Open Source products used so far would be: Joomla, FreeMind, YouTube, and Google Wave.
Let us know what you think, and feel free to suggest other software, modules, and extensions. If you don't know what these are, that's okay. In the upcoming weeks, we will explain that as well.
UPDATE
Since writing the above, we have begun using Gimp on one of our computers. Gimp is a very good graphic editor program made to compete with Photoshop. We are still learning our way around the program, and it is taking some time. After all, Photoshop has been our main program for this type of work for over 12 years.
